Password too long

Hi - I asked this question but got no response. For a sensitive document in
Word 2000 I made a 16-character password, unaware the limit is 15 characters.
Now I can't open the document. Any suggestions PLEASE?

Hi,

I've not tried this with 2000, but if you have access to or know someone who
has a really old version of word that didn't have password protection (95 or
less I think) you may be able to open it in that

I have the same problem.
I know what the (too long) password is but cannot open the file when
truncating it to 15 characters.
Is there anyone out there who can help us?
