Password Reset Sucessful

Thanks to all that responded in a matter of minutes to my problem of me
stupidly disabling my own user name. Nepatsfan linked me to
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ where I downloaded a zip which
burned a bootable CD that reset my administration password.

Whew! Not going to have to reinstall!

Steve, same thing is happening to my desktop where Xp is asking for user
account password. I went to the site you mentioned but I'm not quite sure
which file/Zip I should download. Any help you can give is appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad

If you have a CD burner, get cd050303.zip. Running the exe inside teh zip
creates a CD automatically using your installed burning software. The other
two create floppies - one boot disk, and one driver disk. I don't know how
they work...

The CD seemed the most simple to do and it turned out to be a breeze. Make
sure and print the directions on the site... I just keyed "Enter" on the 4
or 5 steps, choosing the default choices.

I tried all the suggestions, but none of them worked: in cmmand
prompt"control user passwords2" did not bring up any tabs; trying to use
"Control Panel /Administrative Tools" does not have a "Security
Settings"; "mmc" was emptyu, did not show any snap-ins; command prompt :net
user . . . : did not work; tried to use " . . .home eunet . . ." & got
message "eunet.no%257E pnordahl" was not found>

Here's the link to the zip file that will create the CD that will enable you
to reset the password:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/cd050303.zip

Right-click and save it to your desktop. Double-click the exe inside and
your CD burning software should make you a quick bootable CD (put a blank CD
in first).

Here is the address to the instructions for running the CD:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
