Folks,

I upgraded a system I use as a print server to Win2K. Now the client machine (Win95) is demanding a password for connecting to the shared printer. I cannot find any way to set or change passwords for shared printers. Can you please help? Thanks!

Win2000 does not just ask for a password for printing - it asks for a
password for any access that external machines make to its resources.

To resolve the problem, you must create an account/password on the Win2000
machine that matches exactly the account/password used on the Win95 machine.

David, under the administrator tab for permissions or
under the actual printer device tab you should be able to
set, delete, rename the password. Also, try installing
some of the W2K componants onto the 95 machine. Hope this
helps, if not contact me again and i will get you some
more things to try.
