Password Protection

Is it possible to password protect important folders (my
coursework)in windows xp pro without installing any 3rd
party software.

Other than the make folders private option are there any
in-built password protection options in XP Pro?

If there is how do i set it up?

Use a NTFS file system with password protection and if you want extra protection use Encrypted File System (EFS)
