Hi there,

Does Vista have any built in feature that you can password protect a certain
folder without using any other software?

Many thanks

Shane

I tried it on vista, but no - go.. I probably would be able to make it work
... but the installer as it is does not work

Ah I have just tried that one too and no luck unfortunately.

I know of a program called Folderlock. I was kind of looking for freeware
like microsoft folder...

Thanks for your replies so far, any other ideas?

Thanks

Shane

I figured out how to install it..

you have to use the command prompt in administrator mode...
to do that go to start>accessories>RIGHT CLICK on the command promt and
select run as administrator..

then via the command prompt navigate to the installer package and run it...

the program will install and work.

Sorry to be a pain and thank for all your help!

One questions, how do I navigate to a folder using the command prompt?

Thanks

Shane

well... to change a directory you have to write:
cd NAME OF FOLDER for example

CD DESKTOP

and to go to a parent folder you have to type:
CD..

that is CD with 2 dots afterwards... the best way to do it is this:
Place the installer in the root of your drive C
then press CD.. enter CD.. enter untill you are at C:\
and then type the name of the installer along with its extension, for
example
MSPF10ENU.msi and press enter

the installer will start..

you are not a pain... if you need any help post here.. I will assist you

You're A Star Tiberius, thank you for all your help!

Thank god for people like u!

Regards,

Shane
