password protected pages

I'm trying to create a password protected page that does not require a user
id or user registration. I'd like a page to appear that asks users to enter
a "password" they were verbally given. All the user has to do is type the
password and the protected page appears. How do I acccomplish that? The
only info I can find on password protected pages is forms that force you to
create individual user id's and passwords utilizing a database. Thanks for
any help you can provide!

Have your host set unique login requirement on a folder, then you would give this give this same
login info to everyone that you would want to have access to the content of the folder.

Or See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825451
Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions
