password protect workbook

In older versions of Excel I was able to have a message box appear whe
the file opened allowing a user to either enter a password or selec
read only. How is this accomplished in Excel 2002 running on Window
2000

choose file / save as
in the browse window's toolbar
select tools / general options ... the password options at workbook level
are under here
