Password protect standard documents.

CAN A PERSON PASSWORD PROTECT ANY STNDARD DOCUMENT FILE
AND THEN PLACE IT ON SOFTWARE TO OPEN ON ANOTHER
COMPUTER? I'M USEING WINDOWS MILLENIUM. THANK YOU FOR
THE RESPONCE.
 
This is a Windows 2000 newsgroup which is different from Windows ME. However that is
not possible with Windows ME. Windows 2000 does offer a privacy capability with EFS
file/folder encryption. There are third party encryption tools for other operating
systems as shown in the link below. If you look into file encryption, be sure to
thoroughly read all documentation of exactly what it takes to protect your files and
how to back up your encryption keys as many users end up locking themselves out from
