password protect a page

Is there a simple way that I can password protect a page of my website so
that club members can only read the newsletter. The rest of the website
should be visible to all. I also want the SE spiders to not index this page
but index the rest of the website, Can some kind person tell me the correct
meta tag for this page. Fred

The meta tag for the page would be <meta name=robots content=noindex, nofollow>

To password protect the page check the kb article. It says FP2000 but applies to all versions.

Steve: I believe a password protected page will not be crawled by the
robots, since they can't get to it.

LOL.
That thought crossed my mind after I clicked send.

but, the meta tag won't hurt anything.

I'm trying to restrict anonymous access, but keep getting this error message:

"The role(s) 'Administrator' exceed the rights specified for anonymous access and contain the the account used for anonymous logons by your web server directly or indirectly through at least one of the following members: 'server\username'. To fix this remove these members from those roles."

If I remove the member (me) from the admin role, I will get locked out of administration and the site is still not protected.

Any ideas?
