Password Protect a Discussion Subweb

I have a discussion subweb at
http://caot.lacitycollege.edu/001/Talk1/disc1_frm.htm andI followed the steps
below to password protect the site in FP 2003. However, I'm still able to
open the frameset page of the subweb and post without being prompted to enter
a user name and password. My host does support FP Extensions.

There is no idenx.htm for this Web site. The frameset page serves as the
home page. I'm getting some type of spam postings here and continue to have
to delete and recreate the discussion sub web to start again. How can I stop
unwanted people from posting? Thanks in advance.

Set unique permissions from the root Web site
Open the root Web site that contains the subsite for which you want to set
unique permissions.
On the Tools menu, point to Server, and then click Administration Home.
On the Web site Administration for "Your_Web_Site" page, in the Subwebs
section, click the name of your subsite.
In the Users and Roles section, click Change subweb permissions.
Select Use unique permissions for this Web site, and then click Submit.
To return to the Administration page, click Administration, and then click
Manage Users.
To set unique permissions, do one of the following:
Restrict access to a subsite
Select the check box next to each user name for which you want to restrict
access to the subsite, and then click Remove selected user(s) from all roles.
Grant permission to a subsite
Click Add a User.
In the Add a User dialog box, in the User section, create a new account or
add an existing account.
In the User Role section, click a role for the user you are adding, and then
click Add User.
Repeat steps 7 through 9 for each user to whom you want to grant access
permission to your subsite.
Click Administration to return to the Administration page, and then click
Change anonymous access settings.
On the Change anonymous access settings page, click Off, and then click
Submit.

Thank you, Thomas. I went to a different computer and I was also prompted to
log-on. I guess when I'm on my own system, somehow I have rights
automatically. Do you think that this will stop automatic spamming of posts
from happening?
