All of a sudden, I keep getting a password prompt. It will not go away or
will not let me receive messages. I have tried everything. Please help
before I go crazy!!! Thanks.

Jackie,

Did you check you security settings on your Outlook profile.

On Outlook 2003 this can be found under Tools - Email Accounts click Next -
Change - More Settings - select the Security tab. Check your settings
requiring password authentication and logon network security.

This is the first place to start there could be other factors involved as
well regarding passwords being in synch.

i tried this and I think all the settings are correct. I am very upset with
my cable company. They will only support Outlook Express and will give me no
help at all...but they did tell me that my settings were correct. I have
used Outlook for years and this just happened all of a sudden. I have spent
so much time trying to fix it. I even re-installed OUtlook...but nothing
seems to work. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much.

Thanks so much ...I really appreciate your trying to help me. You cannot
imagine how many hours I have spent on this. I have OUtlook 2002...not 2003.
Does that make a difference? When I go to
tools...email...next...change...more settings...there is no security tab. My
only options are general/outgoing server/connections/advanced. There is
nothing about security or password settings in any of those tabs. The only
thing I saw was a place to check for logon using SPA. I am still confused
about how this happened all of a sudden...after years of using Outlook.
Thanks again...hopefully I'll hear from you soon.
