password for screensaver

I asked this yeaterday with no help-ill try again,
I have not changed my password---somehow the computer did
and i can not now set my screenword password to activate
because it wont let my password work, does anyone know
how to reset this password? on the preference tab it only
says *on resume-password protect* i dont see anywhere
where i can reset it or change it

I windows XP
this is NOT the same password that you sign on with, its
the screensaver that if you leave your computer for a few
minutes - in order to resume using the computer - you
must have a password.
mine stopped working.
