password error

Howdy! I've had to re-install my windows xp home ed.
I've no idea what the password is to login. I've gone
into safe mode to clear it as administrator but no matter
how i try to login, in safe or out, with a password or
not, i keep getting the same error message: The specified
domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
What does this mean and how can i fix this??? Thanks in
advance to anyone who can help me.

Do a repair install as follows below. When you come to the section of setup
that asks if this computer is part of a workgroup or logs on to a Domain,
select the workgroup option.

If this doesn't resolve it, please take this question to the
