"Password" Dial Up Connection Box

When I cilick on IE to start a session the DialUp
Connection box appears. In the box you enter:
1. User Name
2. Password
Under this there is a check box provided to remember the
password. When I check this it doesn't remember the
password I entered. It inserts a different, longer
password. I tried to setup the modem again but it still
enters the wrong Password.
 
Windows XP Encrypts the password when it saves it. Even
a 1 letter password will appear as a 16 dot string when
it is saved. Try connecting even though the password
looks wrong. If that dosen't work try removing the dial
up connection and creating a new one. But, remember that
the password will still look like 16 dots when it is
saved.
