password change prompts even after changing passwords

I run into this problem frequently throughout the year...
My users have to change their passwords every 90 days.
Once they do they keep getting prompted to change their
password even though its been done. This doesn't happen
to all the users... just some. If I manually reset their
password in AD users and computers this stops right away
however.

I have a 2K AD domain controller with a backup controller
running 2003. I thought maybe the problem had gone away
when I recvently demoted an old 2K backup controller and
promoted the 2003 controller, however, I just got another
call.

Any ideas?

I do not have any ideas but have been having the same problem and have been looking his up for some time

I have a 2000 AD, with W2K stations. Yeah even after changing password it keeps prompting them to change it. No matter how many times they change it it does not stop, even after the expiration date, it keeps coming up saying that the password expires today. Its been doing that for about two weeks now. Workstation's policies are the same a s the server.

We have troubleshooting the problem for more than 2
months, even i gave permission to microsoft to remote our
DCs, but seems microsoft couldn't found the root cause of
the problem.

Is it Microsoft Bug ?? only Microsoft and God know.

Hi,

This problem should be a bug with our product.

The problem described in article 831571
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=831571)
also applies to w2k computer. We have released a hotfix
last week to this issue on w2k also.

I have sent Hendra the hotfix to address this issue and he
should let us know the result soon.

I apoligize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate
your feed back to either our product or our support
service.

best regards,
fengli
