Is it possible to have an Authentication FILE for a password instead of a
password itself? like the scenario under:
I want to be able to log into windows xp , and as soon as I put in my form
of media be able to tell it where to locate the Authentication File, and just
get into windows without needing a password.
Thank you,
Austin

You won't find them as often any longer. They DID have them - look for
single factor authentication tokens at various hardware device vendors and
you should find an older one - but now they tend to have dual factor which
means that in order to logon you'll need to have something you have (the
token) and something you know (the password) in order to use the system.

You might even find that there are USB devices, mice, or keyboards that will
read your fingerprint and then log you on to your system as well as other
sites. The idea behind them is pretty good but people can often fool them
with just a bit of clay and their reliability for even authorized users
isn't that high.
