When I have Outlook Express minimized in the task bar after an hour or so
parts of it disapear. I have a new computer (2 weeks old) and it is doing
this. It replaced an older one (win XP Pro, 2.4 ghtz, 80 gig hard drive 512
meg of ram). The old computer began doing this as well. The new computer is
a Sony Vaio, Pent 4, 1000meg ram, 200 gig hard drive.) I am very frustrated
and have done Norton Virus scans and it states that my system is clean. Can
anyone help?

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck

This is a well-known bug that for some reason only affects a minimum of
users (I'm one). The OE Team says they can't duplicate the problem so
they're not expending any resources to fix it.

When this happens, just change the focus to 'Outlook Express' (top of Folder
pane) and then go back to where you were.

Some users avoid this by frequently deleting Temporary Internet Files (IE
Tools>Internet Options>General>...) and making sure they select the prompt
to delete all offline content as well. YMMV.

Hi,

Without knowing more, when did this behavior begin? That asked, what else
is running in the background? To know, run:

Windows XP Startup Programs Tracker
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_u.htm#xp_util

In the meantime, see if this helps and good luck!

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Well, I use Office 2000 Professional. Sometimes there are no programs
running and sometimes one of those.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you speaking OE natively?

Do you have any third party programs running that you speaking of that is
disappearing from the Tool Bar as in SPAMfighter or Ella, etc?

If not, see if this edit helps:
