PartitionMagic8 hard disk type:3c or PqRP how to get NTFS or fat?

hi every1 here

my problem is that
i have external hard disk 80GB westen dig
and i have on it 2 partions
1 40GB
2 40GB
i want to create a new partition or 3rd with the size 5GB from 1
i use partition magic 8
and was fine till the computer was shutting down because of power and the whole process was interpted
then
i found the 1st partition with 32GB
and nothing else
50GB gone
and it was very important data

but acully the have it on other format or hard disk type
which is 3C or PqRP

i did a lot of research
and i found one solution which is
using PTEDIT
but i face a problem with this program
it seems that it is very old

You need to run the ptedit through a dos boot disk not thru' Windows.

but
i have the program on my HD with size 486 KB
so can i copy it to floppy
but then ?
how can i get in ???

Make a dos boot disk and copy ptedit to it. Boot from the disk and then run ptedit. I would disconnect the hard drive you don't want to touch just in case. If the programme is too big for the floppy after putting on the boot files, then just put ptedit on another disk and swap them over after booting.
