hi all,

I'm looking for a freeware partitioning tool that will allow me to resize a
linux (ext3) partition, in order to free up room for a windows (ntfs)
partition. Preferably something that will run under windows xp pro.

thanks in advance,

Is there a freeware build on the site somewhere that I missed?

Free trial. Burn to CD, use it.

Nope, it's a commercial app. It'll function as a demo for a while
without paid registration, but IMO it would be foolish to use it for
partition management without purchase. Conor recommends it as if it
were freeware every time someone asks here about freeware partition
managers.

You will have to resize the filesystem, as will as the partition.
To resize partitions use parted.
To resize ext3 file system use mke2fs.
There are several Linux distros that have Live Cd's
that you can boot from, and use these programs,
as they are on the CD's. I listed a few below.
I know of no program that will run under XP
and resize linux partitions, and resize the file system.(you have to do both)

http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilitiestp.html (FSRD for resizing file system,a bootable disk)
