i want to make partition/shrink/
after following this step i made a partition of 30gb it was working fine
untill i hibernate my laptop....but when i started my laptop the next time
the drive was missing and all my files stored in it was gone......
i have tried partition magic also and it seems like it is not supported on
vista platform....please help me because i hav many important documents in

Quick and dirty:

Try recreating the 30GB partition again. The data is probably still there.

Before or after you recreated? Until the OP can see a partition, it can't
access the disk, so there is nothing there. Once the partition is
established it can read the disk again. The partition data is in a separate
place from the data on the disk. No promises!

Good luck.

Hey guy,

One more chance, you can open disk management to check if you can see the
30GB partition list in it, if so, you can assign a new letter to this drive,
in most situation, it's just a letter missing, not a partition missing.

PS. if you create a new partition again, maybe your data will lost forever.

Good Luck!!!

A data recovery software will help you in recovering your lost
partition. Try using Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software a
file and partition recovery utility which recovers lost partition from
FAT 16, FAT 32, NTFS & NTFS5 file system.
Download the demo from: http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm
Demo will help you to see the preview of the recovered data. If you
are able to see the preview then get the full version to save it.
