I haven't used these tools, but have read very good things about them:

let us know how it turns out.

I didn't see any tool on that list that would join partitions. I'd
be
interested in a tool other than Partition Magic that is freeware
also.

I wouldn't bother. Just backup, delete the old partitions, repartion the drive and
restore
from you backups. Otherwise you're just asking for trouble down the road..

Are both partitions NTFS? How much data is on the partitions?
Do you have a Knoppix CD? QTParted is on the CD, well worth a look-

http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/

But as Chris has pretty much already said, before you do any mucking around
with your partitions you want to backup everything. So now that you have
backups, you could delete the second partition, resize the first, then copy
back the backup of the second to the resized first. Easy. ;)

Both are FAT32

Yes, I have come to that conclusion.. The software I have
come across talks about 2Gig partitions, and what I have is
20Gig.. I have recently bought a 160Gig HD, so I will make a
40Gig part. and copy what I need to that, then using Windows
I will delete / recreate the partions as I need.

The new drive will eventually be used for archiving and for
Linux..

Thanks for your response..
