partition a HD

Hi
I have just installed a new hard drive I have set up the operating system,
but did not come accross where to partion the HD. What I wanted was to split
the HD in 2
Is this possible.

To do it now you need third party software such as Partition Magic. Because
you have installed windows and was unable to find 'how' to partition then
Windows has allocated all of yuor drive for it's own use. Therefore you
cannot create another partition from within windows without either using
partition magic or, if you don't want to buy partiton magic, reinstall
windows xp.
