partial calculation displays in formula

If I enter a formula - ie - =2*2*2 it changes to show a partial calculation.
It displays 4*2. I am sure I have accidently clicked something, but I cannot
figure out what. Any ideas?
 
That was just an example - the first set always shows as calculated-in your
example it would be 12*2
