Partial bold in field text

I have a StyleRef field function in a header. It isn't formatted bold and
neither is the Header style. The text pulled in by the style reference is
displayed partially bold, unfortunately. If it's a one-word heading, that
word is bold. If it's a multi-word heading, the first few words are bold and
the last words are not. When viewing the field codes, the code text appears
unbold. After turning off the view field codes, the partial bold is back.
Manually unbolding it only resolves the problem until the field codes are
updated.

It seems like I've seen this before, but don't remember if I ever found a
way past the problem. I need to lose the bold for good. Suggestions?

Use a CharFormat switch instead of a MergeFormat switch in your StyleRef
field.
