Check the help files in the Norton product.
I doubt you can remove it but you can disable it and the help files will
tell you exactly what to do.

How does it manifest - Messages? If so, what kind...?

How do YOU connect this with Norton?

should also help you to turn it OFF.

Ah! Then I'd suggest seeking assistance from Symantec's tech support;
I'm not familiar with such a product.
