I'm able to connect two computers through a parallel port. Only problem is
after I do this I can't seem to figure out how to transfer the data I want to.

I've looked in explorer and supposedly the other computer is suppose to pop
up there but it doesn't. I've also tried to add network drive but they can't
seem to find each other that way either.

Both are running windows xp. One is a home computer and the other is a work
laptop computer that is set up to be on the company network when I'm there.
I'm wondering if the home computers lack of being setup for network is the
problem or if the work computers network settings might be the problem. Help
would be much apperciated. Thanks.

I know its unpopular and slow but its also cheap. My computer doesn't have
an eithernet card and I couldn't find a computer to computer usb at bestbuy.
Its a lot of info to transmit but I don't care if I let it go all day on the
weekend.

I am able to get the connection. Just can't get to the point to share the
info or to get anything to pop up. Seems to be lots of help to get the
connection but nothing about ok now you have the connection do this to
trasnmit data.

Hi

If you installed the cable and the basic Network and you have a network
connector for it in the Control Panel Network connections.

Install the NetBEUI protocol and set the sharing.

Adding NetBEUI as Sharing Protocol in WinXP:

Jack (MVP-Networking).
