Palm Problem with Quick Install and Vista

I just upgraded to Vista, and my Tungsten E2 works fine and syncs ok, except
when I try to do a quick install of a program or file. Then I get an error
message saying "An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification". I've tried this with a couple of different programs,
including one that worked before with XP with the same error message.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Jack

No, I don't sync with Outlook. I'm thinking my problem has something to do
with VIsta security. Whenever I open my quickinstall app, Vista asks if I
want to allow it. I'm wondering if Vista is preventing the hotsync app from
communicating with the quickinstall.

I think I read at the Palm website that Palm programs (calender, contacts,
etc) are compatable (they aren't totally but that's beside the point) with
Vista except for Quick Install. They actually state this on the site, I
will find the link.

Here it is:

"Solution ID: 43851

Installing Palm applications (.prc and .pdb) under Windows Vista

Palm Install Tool and Palm Quick Install are not compatible with Windows
Vista at this time.
This page shows you some workarounds for installing Palm OS files on your
device."

I would paste the whole article but some of the instructions use jpgs.
