The colours used in Paint carry numbers identifying the hue, saturation and
luminescence. Is it possible to find out what these numbers are for any
particular colour? I don't mean the colours given in the colour box but a
colour, say, in a jpeg image imported into or saved in Paint.

First, use the eye dropper to select the color for which the data is
being sought. Then under Colors, open Edit Colors and go to Define
Custom Colors. The values for hue, saturation and luminesence as well
as the Pantone color chip values should be displayed. HTH.

Wow, this could distract me for the rest of the day! It may not be what I
need right now, but I'll bookmark it for future use.
