Paging File Config Problems

When trying to reset the page filesize for virtual memory
i changed the numbers ,custom,and clik set,then when
clk "OK" system crashes and restarts by itself.However
setting do not take place.Current setting are 50 min and
150max.Trying to reset to 768min and 1536 max.Dont know
why does this now,have done this succesfully in the
past.Here is system info:
AMD Athlon 1800(1.53Ghz)
512 Corsair Memory
XP sp1a

Generally, setting min and max to the same value will give you better
performance, since the pagefile will always be and the OS won't have to
spend the time growing/shrinking the pagefile.

As for the crashing, first thing I would check is that you have enough free
disk space for max. Assuming you have enough space, have you run chkdsk toi
check for bad sectors? (Disk Dr if you have Norton)
