pages requiring passwords don't open

the other day I cleaned out temp internet files and
cookies in my (Dell)lap top. now all pages that I could
access with a password don't let me log in. i.e. my
virtual office and website admin. I can get in with my PC
but not my lap top.

Not sure whats related but I have never had an issue
before.

Help????

Did you install these updates?

Fix if This problem occurs after you apply the 832894 security update
(MS04-004) or the 821814 hotfix.

SYMPTOMS
Programs that use Wininet functions to post data (such as a user name or a
password) to a Web server retry the POST request with a blank header if the
Web server closes (or resets) the initial connection request.
