Page Setup and Size differences in 2000/2003

Hello all,

Our company is migrating from Office 2000 to Office 2003
and the page sizes in dfault templates is different in
each version of PowerPoint. What I mean is if I open an
Office 2000 .pot file in 2000 the Page size is: A4
(210x297mm) with Page width 26 and height 18. If I close
this document and open in 2003 the settings are: A4
(210x297mm) but height of 27.51 and width of 19.05. This
then throughs the default grid out etc.

If I set the document to be 26 x 18 in 2003 it then opens
as a smaller size in 2000 ie 24.51 etc.

Why are 2003 and 2000 "disagreeing" over page sizes and
how can I stop it?

Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks

Ouch.

For starters, I'd do everything possible to avoid batting files back and forth
between different versions of PowerPoint (understanding that "everything
possible" may be = "nothing, we can't help it")

As to the grid - while you can't set spacing in PowerPoint 2000, perhaps you
could work out a grid setting for 2003 that matches up with what you're getting
in 2000.

It has to do with a correction to how PowerPoint used to incorrectly
translate inches to centimeters. You're suffering from the results of a bug
*fix*. See the following:
