Page set up margins will not apply to page

I cannot apply any page set up changes to word docs. I have tried renaming
normal.dot to normal.old to c f it would correct this. no joy. What do I do
to correct this??? Very frustrating

You can try the following: Exit Word. In Windows, search for normal.dot (be
sure to search hidden files and folders). When you find it, right-click its
icon and choose Open from the context menu. Use the Page Setup dialog box to
specify the desired settings. Save and close the file.

Note, however, that if Word cannot save to the Normal template, there might
be an underlying problem, for example an add-in that isn't working
correctly.
