Page numbers

Hi,
Having trouble following help directions to putting page numbers on 3
sheets. It indicates use Headers/Footers? I go to them and am puzzled.
Any quick directions?

Hi
in header/footers click on custom header/footer and click on the #
symbol
 
View>Header and Footer

Click on the "Header" or "Footer" drop-down arrow and choose.

Or as Frank suggests, use the "Custom" drop-down.
