Page numbers are shown as (page)

On my document page numbers are being shown as (page) in print layout mode;
however, in print preview mode it looks alright. Form formatting is also
showing formatting in print layout mode and these are also corrected in print
preview mode.

Press Alt+F9 to switch between display of field codes (what you see now)
and field results. If that doesn't help, then:
• in Word 2003 or earlier, click on Tools | Options | View tab |
uncheck the boxes for "All", "Hidden text", and "Field codes" | Print
tab | uncheck the "Hidden text" and "Field codes" boxes | OK.
• in Word 2007, click on Office Button | Word Options | Display |
uncheck the "Show all formatting marks", "Hidden text", and "Print
hidden text" boxes | Advanced | uncheck the "Show field codes instead of
their values" and "Print field codes instead of their values" boxes | OK.
