Page not displayed sp2

I am having problems on receiving downloads as page not displayed is showing
up. I have had the browser check and it,s okay. I have checked tools and
reset to default and still nothing. I am on medium secure set but still
nothing,and this is at every site for download page not dispayed. Is sp2
causing this problem?

Hi Microdot,

Create a System Restore point and then reset the Winsock settings to factory defaults. SP2 has new NETSH commands which does the job for you. See the NETSH section here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/winsock.htm

Next, delete the History folder, TIF and index.dat:

It's also worth checking if you have a orphaned download handler entry in the registry which is causing the behavior. Disable or uninstall any download managers if you've installed any. To verify if there are any remnant download hooks in the system, try the advice here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ie/downloadmgrs.htm
