Page layout and table problems

Hello,

Wondering if you can offer any advice. My website is www.linkmenow.co.uk
and some pages I find dont load as I would expect them to. Some examples are
www.linkmenow.co.uk/shopping.htm and www.linkmenow.co.uk/travel.htm The
layout of these pages and all pages on my site are by use of tables. What I
am finding on these pages is that where the "adverts" are on the respective
left and right hand sides that they will often expant to twice their width
when first accessed and when the page is loaded they will return to normal
width. It only seems to affect the "adverts" not the text in the middle
comums.

It bothers me as to me it seems when accessed the site initially looks less
professional than it should be.

I had thought this was an issue with the "adverts" not being centralised or
perhaps spaces being either side of each advert. This has been dealt with
and the problem still exists. This happens some of the time, but not all.

An example of a page which never seems to do this is
www.linkmenow.co.uk/motherbaby.htm

Any advice would be appreciated.

It doesn't look all that bad...some suggestions...purely my opinion:

1- get rid of table/cell borders...let them be invisible (border=0)
2- use smaller font
3- give some serious thought to limiting your color palette (red on blue=yecho).
4- stick to one font style except maybe for headings.
