I think his numbers sound about right 1 GB is 1024 MB x 3 x 1.5 = 4608
MB. I don't think there is necesarily a problem with his machine.

That sounds like a per-swap file limit. Try splitting the file across
devices.

If it is the type of problem the error messages indicate reinstalling
Windows probably won't help. It seems to be memory related, be
it virtual memory ( pagefile ) or RAM memory. The latest blue
screen error if it was I suspect it is may offer pointers as to which
direction to look. You need to capture a BSOD Stop Error
message and copy it here.

I suggest you Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should
help by allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click
on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
StartUp and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Enable automatic restart on system failure after you have captured /
copied and pasted the message in a further post here.

Another simple measure you could take at this stage is to test each
hard drive for bad sectors. Try HD Tune (freeware). Download and run
it and see what it turns up.
http://www.hdtune.com/

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on C:\ under Drive letter
and then double click the two page icon ( copy to
Clipboard ) and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy to
Clipboard ) and copy into a further message.

Also do a full surface scan with HD Tune.

Hope this helps.

Awesome.... I have to check it this evening... it is at my home office so it
will be a few hours but I will check back and let you know....

How is it that you can monitor a thread so deep in the history?

Thanks,
