Page disappears & activeX probs

Ed

On a computer running Windows Me, I'm encountering difficulties within
Internet Explorer. The same problems persist in both IE5.x and IE6 - the
latest update is now installed.

The first problem is that IE loads the desired page, which is briefly displayed
before disappearing to leave a blank white window. The page loads two
HTML frames containing nothing more than text, a few images and a couple
of hyperlinks.

This could possibly be linked to the second problem, which is ostensibly an
ActiveX issue. An example is that after selecting messages to be deleted in
Hotmail, clicking the delete option causes an error message to display from
ActiveX, saying that no checkboxes have been selected.

Any ideas on how to sort these problems would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ed

Ed,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
