While using DllArchive
Pressed the wrong tab
Oops archived thousands of DLL's
Up pops WindowsXP "missing files"
Need WindowsXP SP2 disc
Reinstall Reinstall
No No, but would not go away
Up pops WindowsXP "Home" screen
"Not really gone after all"
Shut Down Shut Down cold and hard
Use GoBack3, before Windows starts
Ahh! back to before, safe for now
Until the next misadventure

Take Care

I'm not sure you've followed the correct syntax for a sonnet, and this is
too long for a haiku. Nonetheless, glad you're back up and running. I don't
know what DLLArchive is, but perhaps it's not something you want to be
running.

Hello, No attempt just a reminder to self.
Thank You for the sentiment.
DLLArchive finds DLLs, list all found and can archive (remove and store).
Can seperate (partial ability) os and orphan DLLs.
Upon removal creates a list of removed DLLs in order to restore, if necessary.
Sometimes useful in finding and removing problem items.

Take Care.

I guess I've never had a need - I'd usually rather let sleeping dogs lie.
And system restore would likely work as well as GoBack.

Hello, I understand.
System restore good for system files, GoBack3 expands to all of "C" drive.
With option to replace individual files.
There are some companies that when their software is installed include a
DLL that is not removed when the program is removed. This DLL recreates a
registry entry, so unless you know the DLL you can never remove the registry
entry permanently, unless you do a clean install.
Sometimes the company will supply a removal tool but I have found that the
DLL is not removed just the registry entry.
Hence the DLL tool.
We now know companies use the "Root Kit" situation, Sony is not the only
company.
Take Care.
