packaging a cd virus warning

I have packaged a presentation containing links to internal audio/video
files(wmv, wav), and when I click them, I get the "Some hyperlinks may
contain viruses..." warning. I have read all I see on this site and don't
see a solution for a/v files with Office XP. Any suggestions?

It sounds as if you're using Office 2003, not XP, but anyway, how did you
insert your videos? Use Insert/Movies and Sounds/Movie from File, and you
shouldn't see the warning message.

Someone ellse created the presentation, and they want to be able to rewind
the movie and start and stop throughout. I believe that's why the hyperlinks
were created. Is there a way to get rid of the virus message while still
using hyperlinks? I am using Office 2003 to package the presentation. I
believe she will be using Office XP. Thanks!

No, if you use hyperlinks, you're gonna get the warnings.

If you use Insert/From File, PPT 2002 and 2003 automatically put in a
trigger. This lets you click on the movie to pause it and click on it again
to continue. Is that enough?

Hi,
I have found a way around this. PPT all versions do not display the warning
if the hyperlink is to a web page or an html page. So create a slide that
launches your external file with links to pdf, avi, or any other programme
(but not an installation file) and then save this page as a web page in the
same directory along with the
external file you want to launch. From your main presentation put your
hypelink to this web page. Now when you click on the hypelink it will open a
new window in explorer with your slide and trigger link to launch the
external file. You will not see the virus warning this way. Hope it helps.
