Package for CD

I've been trying to package a CD and have tried to Copy to CD and Copy to
folder but I keep getting this error: "The files cannot be copied to the
temporary folder because the hard disk may be full. Free up space on the hard
disk, and then try packaging the files for CD again."

I know my hard disk is NOT full. Can anyone help?

I tried this again this morning and when choosing "Copy to Folder", I
received this message: "The files cannot be copied to the folder. Try to free
up space on the hard disk and then try again."

I have 44.7 GB of free space so why would I receive this error message? Has
anyone experienced this before? Thanks.

What is the exact path to the folder you are trying to use to hold the
presentation? I am wondering if you have told PPT to do the package to
folder to a folder on the CD instead of your hard drive....

Sometimes Windows/Office error messages are ... well, let's just say that they can
bring more than just a whiff of red herring along with them. In other words, I
wouldn't trust that one, particularly since you KNOW you've got plenty of room.

Instead, let's try this:

Create a new folder on your hard drive, just off the root (ie, C:\TEST or the
like). Put no files in the folder.

Try using that as your "copy to" folder.

Report back.

Thanks Steve. I tried what you suggested and I am still receiving the same
error message. When I click on Copy to Folder and select the folder on the
root of my hard drive it looks like it is copying all the files but after a
few minutes the error comes up. So, you would think the files are being
copied somewhere but when I check the folder it is always empty. This is
very puzzling and I've had our IT guy look at my computer and he can't figure
it out either. I really need to be able to use this feature. Thanks.

I just realized that the problem seems to be when trying to copy the PPT
viewer. I am able to use this feature if I click off "Include PPT viewer".
When watching the files transfer to the folder, the error seems to come up
when it is trying to copy the viewer from the Program Files/Microsoft
Office/Office 11 folder. Maybe that helps someone determine the problem ...
I hope. Thank you very much!

THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED!!!! Thank you to everyone who may have been
working on a solution.

The problem ended up being our Virus Scan. Once we disabled it the Package
for CD feature worked fine.

Wow ... thanks for coming back with that.

I swear, sometimes I think some of these virus protection programs are more evil than
the viruses they allegedly defend against.

Which Virus Scan program was it?

It is McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, ver 8.0.0
