Package and Deployment Add-In (2nd post)

I am still trying to get an answer to my question about the Package and
Deployment Wizard Add In.

I am try to create a runtime application but the Package and Deployment
Wizard is not available.

I know it has to be loaded from the add-in manager, but my Add-in manager is
empty. I do not have any add-ins available. I thought I had Office
Developers Edition loaded on my machine, but now I am not sure... I have a
"ODETools" folder under the Microsoft Office folder.

How do I make the Add-Ins available?

I have installed MSDN Library Visual Studio 6.0.
I am running MS Access 2000.

Thanks in advance!

I have a
"ODETools" folder under the Microsoft Office folder.

Your previous post, you were talking about access 2000.

I don't know if just the existence of the folder means the software is
installed. I have all kinds of folders etc. that seems to imply that I have
software installed on my PC, but in fact the software is NOT present. Lots
of folders get created as place holders, but that don't mean that software
is actually installed. Further, often when you delete the software...folders
remain behind.

To be sure, I would simply go back to your original disks, and re-install
the developer tools. Note that the developer tools were NOT part of the
office install. In fact, even the office professional edition did not
include the ODE tools. So, the ODE was in fact a separate product that had
to be purchased.

And, further, installing Visual studio in your case will do nothing for this
issue again, as for a2000.

I only used the runtime tools for access 97, and access 2003.

As far as I can remember, you can launch, and run the packaging tools from
OUTSIDE of ms-access. In fact, the prefer way is to launch the packaging
wizard from the windows start menu, and not from ms-access anyway. It has
been so long since I used the a97, tools, but I thought even back then I
launched the tools from the windows menu, and NOT the add-in menu for
ms-access. (I just can't remember).

Regardless, I would consider re-installing the tools, as your install may be
incomplete, or even damaged.
