p4p800 se new build problems

I am having problems with a new build. Some times when I turn it on the
computer might hang on the start up screen. Also it sometimes starts to boot
then it restarts again like you hit the reset button. It will do this a
couple of times then it starts. Sometimes when it starts up windows will
complain. Onetime I got a weird message that a problem had occurred because
Windows could not check the accuracy of the license... I booted up this
morning before work and when the windows screen came on it went to a check
disk...I let it check and when it finished it was frozen so
I pushed the reset and then it worked fine again. Sometimes it says windows
was not shut down correct when it starts up. Onetime the monitor settings
were not correct it had 60 Hz refresh and low video setting.

hardware

3.0 gig Intel processor
400 watt power supply
1 gig ocz dual channel memory (running dual channel)

I have tried setting the timing values of the memory by ocz specs no luck

Who made your Nvidia 5200? FWIW, I had a problem with a Leadtek 5200. Once
I swapped it out with an MSI 5200, it worked fine. Have you tried going
back to basics (no CD drives, modem, just one stick of RAM in non-dual mode)
and then if that works slowly adding components until the problem starts
again?

Yes I tried one 512 same problem then both dims side by side. I have been
trying different bios settings. I have starting pulling some hardware and
testing.

Just for kicks, download a Knoppix distro and burn yourself a
boot CD. It is a 700MB download (at least when I got it, that
was the size), but the Knoppix CD delivers lots of those little
Linux status messages as it boots. Perhaps that will give you
some more symptoms to work with. (I think it took me a little
more than an hour to download it from Europe.) Knoppix has a
boot command line that accepts various options, like one option
where _everything_ is loaded into RAM, allowing the boot CD to
be ejected. The Knoppix CD even includes memtest86, so instead
of booting into Linux, you can run memtest from the CD instead.

Found the problem. It was the ocz memory. It's suppose to be good stuff but
when I ran the system hard it would error out. Ran mem check never saw so
many red errors pop up in the screen in my life!!!!!!!!

Exchanged it for Corsair value memory. Runs non stop now at 400 memory
speed. NO mem errors.
