P4P800 (Deluxe) Bios 1012

R

Roy Coorne

It's on the German Asus ftp server
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/Socket_478/INTEL_Chipset/i865pe/
but not yet on the Taiwan server.
1012 final = 1012 beta o2 - so... any experience with this one?

Checked out the site....this version is still in beta, but final
version. 1012.002 will be the release version.

I guess so much for that huge thread I saw on some message board about there
being no more BIOS updates for this board!

I used the Asus Update Utility (from the support CD) to update BIOS, but I
get disconnected from the server abruptly each time I manage to connect to a
server. Same thing happens when using an FTP client.

I've tried the Taiwain, US and German servers multiple times. The website
has not been updated with the latest BIOS yet (to my knowledge, on
11/11/03). For now, I am going to patient and wait for the website update,
but I'd still like to know if anyone else experiences this problem. My
internet connection a 56k dial-up.

I downloaded it directly from the FTP and flashed it at bootup with Alt-F2.

No problems so far, nothing different from what I could see.

I just grabbed it from the German site at:
<ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/Socket_478/INTEL_Chipset/i865pe/P4P800/1012.zip>

Darkfalz,

Great, thank you for testing this for those that are not brave enough to
screw up our PC's! (and those not savvy enough to fix it when a new BIOS
upgradegoes all wrong)!!

I have purchased this board but not pounded it into my system yet as I am
waiting for the new video card. One of the "bitches" that I have heard
about this board is the VT6410 raid, can you tell me if the portion of the
bios for the raid has been updated from version 1.20 to 2.1x? Any info you
can provide would be appreciated.

I have no idea because I have it disabled, but I guess I could turn it on
and check. It should say it in the RAID startup screen eh?

I flashed my P4P800 (std) with 1012. The big difference I see is that
'PAT' can now be enabled/disabled when memory timing is set by SPD.

Um, it was like that in 1010.
