P4C800-Deluxe CPU detection

Hi,
Recently changed CPU's on my P4C800-Deluxe from 2.4 533mhz to 3.0 800mhz. I
noticed in the system -hardware profile - Device Manager that it now lists
two 3.0 CPU's and not one. With the old 2.4 cpu it only listed one.
Apparently my computer now detects the one 3.0 cpu as two. Have tried
switching both back and forth with the same result. Doesn't seem to affect
system performance..... My computer: WinXP pro with all of the updates. One
difference with the new CPU is that I am using the latest bios (1013) that I
got off the ASUS website a week or so ago. Checked this morning and it seems
to be missing. Only lists 1011. Could this all be a bios issue with Win XP?
Other comments?
Thanks,
Mike

P4 2.4 with 533Mhz bus known as P4 2.4b is a non Hyper threading model of
the 2.4 series,
while your P4 3.0 with 800 Mhz is a Hyper threading model, hence ... you
will be detecting another virtual CPU.

No effect on system performance ? well .. that's argueable if you are not
using it with programs that support multiple cpus ..
but if you do .. you'll see significant increase.

Hi,
Thanks for info!
About the system performance: I should have said no "detrimental" effect. It
seems normal as it should. Do you by chance have some sort of reference
about the virtual CPU?
Thanks,
Mike
