The chipset of the motherboard is Intel845D.

Good question.

This asus site states no:

http://www.asus.com/inside/Techref/p4fsb533.htm

But it is possible to find results of running P4 1.8 GHz at @2.4 GHz.

That is a P4 fsb400 run as 18x133.

4x133=533, so it can do it.

You see Duckers hardware specification here:
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=253919

This page states that there exist an fsb400 version of 2.6 GHz, that
runs on p4b266-c from pcb version 1005.002

Check your pcb mumber. It is normally printed among the pci slots.

I also found this article about oc with your motherboard:
http://www.virtual-hideout.net/articles/p4northwood_ocing_adventure_part2/print.html

Here is another good thread:
http://www.motherboard-forum.com/asus/P4B266C_user_please_fall_in_575575.html

I am afraid I can't do it better for you than that.

Well, bios download:
The beta bios from here should be fine:
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/Socket_478/INTEL_Chipset/i845d/P4B266-C/

best regards

what about 400mhz fsb processors.
This page states that there exist an fsb400 version of 2.6 GHz, that
runs on p4b266-c from pcb version 1005.002

i think that is for the bios version.
Anyone knows how to find out CPU support by looking inside flash upgrade
bios file?
