Outlook XP- "+" sign disappear from phone number entries

When entering a phone number +4751776655 in contacts (
outlook XP), the + sign disappear when the contact is
saved. I cannot dial then after my contacts is
transferred to a mobile phone.
 
Is your location set correctly?
What happens if you Configure Outlook to enter your country code
automatically in Dialing options...?
