Outlook won't open links in email messages

When I receive email messages that have links in them to websites, Outlook
won't open the link. I get an error message stating the operation has been
canceled due to an error on my system and to contact the administrator. I'm
using Microsoft XP Home Edition and Office 2003. I am the administrator at
home. Why can't I go to the sites from within the email message?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

please reset your web settings (internet explorer > tools > internetoptions

That didn't work and I'd already tried that. It keeps saying I need to
contact my administrator. I've seached all over the Microsoft support site
for a solution to no avail. I'm pulling my hair out now..lol.

Thank you. I had to tell it to use Hotmail as my default email in order to
get it to open the links.
