Outlook will not open because it's missing the Outlook1.pst file

Outlook was unable to send/recceive due to a "Data Error (cyclic redundancy
check)" related to the file in C:\ ... \Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook1.pst.

I isolated, then removed the offending file. Now Outlook will not open. I
have repeatedly uninstalled Outlook and the entire Office suite, then
reinstalled them from the installation CD. Still, Outlook will not open
because of the missing "Outlook1.pst" file.

How can I get Outlook to function again?

Of course not. You removed the file it wants. If you have Outlook 2002 or
later, create a new PST with the Mail applet in Control Panel. Add it to
your mail profile with the Data Files buttin in that same applet.

Reinstalling Outlook doesn't do anything with the data files and is
pointless.
