outlook viual basic error

I keep getting an erro when I hit "compose" within outlook the error reads ...
The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or
documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros.

I have checked my outlook properties and I even lowed the security settings
to low without success. I use Outlook 2003 and word 2003 as the email editor.
I have checked my word settings but nothing seems to be wrong. How do I get
rid of this error everytime I try to compose?

You are using Word as your e-mail editor. Word has macros within the
document. The template that gets loaded when Outlook calls Word as its
e-mail editor probably has macros in it. So check your macro security
settings in Word.

When the security alert (in Word) appears, there isn't a choice to trust
that macro (which should be from Microsoft)?

Unfortunately I am not a Word wizard (and this newsgroup is for Outlook,
anyway). You might try posting in a Word newsgroup. My guess is that
you should look at what trusted sources are currently listed under the
Trusted tab for macro security to see if Microsoft is listed. My macro
security is set to high and I have Avery listed (for their Avery Wizard
utility for labels) but that 's it. Microsoft isn't listed. So my
guess is that there aren't supposed to be any macros in the template
that gets loaded in Word when Outlook calls it to compose the body of
the e-mail message or, if there are macros in the template, then Word is
expected to trust other signed Microsoft applications in the Office
suite by default (so Microsoft doesn't have to be listed as a trusted
source).

It's been too long since I had an unsigned macro in a document to get
the prompt from Word asking me what to do. As I recall, you had the
choice of trusting the source or not trusting them. I don't see a list
of untrusted sources (in case that is what you picked and now want to
reverse that decision). I did find the following in Word's help by
searching on "macro security" and finding the topic "Troubleshoot macro
security settings and warnings", which said:

"If some items — such as templates, wizards, or custom commands — do
not function the way you expect, you may be running a Microsoft Office
program with the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) shared feature
disabled. ..."

You can read the rest yourself. So it looks like the template might be
associated with a VBA script but VBA is currently disabled or not
installed. While I originally figured it was due to macro security,
maybe instead it has to do with VBA support. When I reran the Office
setup program (from Add/Remove Programs by selecting Change), I have VBA
support installed (but not the help for it). So follow the instructions
in the help to see if you have VBA installed. I've never bothered to
get to know about using VBA with the Office products so once that gets
mentioned then I bow out.

You need to restart any Office application after you change the macro
security settings.
